DESCRIPTION: 08' barbie jammin jeep (purple model)

MODS: zues 12v 12ah battery, modified PW - spade connector, 21 5mm pink leds for under body glow, 7 5mm pink leds for grille accent, 23 red 5mm leds in each factory tailight housings, 13 white 5mm leds in each headlight with factory lens, 4 pink 5mm leds in the cab, 2 pink 5mm leds in the rear cargo area, 18 white 5mm leds in each bumper kc light (soon)

STORY LINE: well, this one i have been wanting to do for awhile since it was near new when i got it, not needing paint so it was an easy one to start working on.

its for my 18mos daughter, she just kinda sits in it and plays with the radio and princess keys with keypad i put in it while her brohers drive her around. but i figured she would like to play with the lights till she can drive better on her own.

i ordered 50 pink 5mm leds, 17k mcd. the only regret is not getting flat top leds with a wider viewing angle. these are bright but focus too hard on the ground and throws the aura glow effect of a little but still looks great and is very bright.

i added 7 leds to the grille, in the slots from the top side pointing down, 5 across the front and 4 across the back with 4 on each side.
i still plan to add 2 more to each side and 6-8 in the cab for more glow.

i also am waiting on my 100 white and 100 red leds to show up so i can fully finish this one, but here is the pink in effect for now.

all she can say about it is "my pretty" and "i wanna ride" lol.

i'll update with pics after the whites and reds show up. i plan to fill the headlights and put 18 leds ea. into the 4 kc lights, so it should be ridiculous on the lightning.

Has sort of a Girly UFO appearance. Have you tried lightly sanding the tips of the leds to help diffuse the light? I'm doing a blue & green underglow on the Silverado and I'll have the same problem.

What about using some Chrome tape behind the LEDs to reflect the light outward a little more?

i might try the sanding on the tip and see how it works out.

the problem is that they have a 15% viewing angle and it just focus' too hard in one spot.

ebay didint have any wide angle and i got the brighter 10k mcd vs the 6k mcd.

i need to upload my new pics, i put 13 17k mcd white leds in each of the headlights and added 23 4k mcd red leds in each tail light and its overkill! as soon as the chrome led holders show up i am doing the bumper kc lights. i think the rack lights would be pointless as they shine in the back of the kids heads.

here it is with the grille white lights and the grille pink accents along with the tailights done in red, 23 ea per tailight and 13 ea. in the gille headlights under the lens.

and here is how just the grille lights light up a pitch black garage after midnight without the outside lights on.

cant wait till the slow shippers send me my chrome led holders so i can hook up the bumper lights.

also get ready for JP Kustoms #7 that 1 day from being done.... a 6v barbie bug turned into a grabber green and pink tinker bell bug with decals front and rear leds with pink under glow, tinker keys and alarm pad and some aftermarket bumper styling!

well its all done! the chrome holders came today and the bumper kc lights are installed. i may do the rack lights too.

also i sanded the tips of the remaining pink leds with a rat tail file for use on the tinker bug and it definetly diffuses the focus point for an even glow.
