I've been pretty lucky. None of the PW's I've goten so far have any electrical issues other than missing batteries. This one is the dirtiest yet, but the guy lived on a dirt road, so I guess that's to be expected.

Anyone know where I can score a decal sheet for this bad boy?

Sweet Score!! I was looking for a decal sheet for the sawblade but was only able to find diff sets. I think I will order one so I can get all the light stickers and window decals.....

Anyone see any reason why I shouldn't put 19t boxes in place of the 16t on this truck?

I think I'm going to part out the McQueen. It's pretty much beyond repair. Everything is twisted and warped in that thing.

Wiring harness is good. I think the clear plastic might have a small scuff on it. The eye sheet is good I believe.

I'll email you some pictures of it all when I have a chance.

The rear wheels are 10.5" and he fronts are 9.5".

I'm not sure yet about what I'll do for tail lights. It kind of sucks that there are no plastic lenses for this thing. I've thought about doing the strip of red leds all the way across the top of the rear bumper like you see so much nowdays.

Painting the body a shiny sparkly blue. That's the plan anyway. This is my first paint job, so we'll see how it goes.

The decal sheet I got for this didn't have the mylar silver stickers for the middle of the grill, so I used some of that shiny foil duct tape. It looks pretty good from a distance.

I'm still looking for a windshield decal if anyone sees any.

Looks good.... I Thats how mine looked about 3 days ago but is now complete.... I might be picking up a black silverado tomorrow. Just wish I could get the alignment figured out.... Keep posting the progress!!!

I ordered a sho-me led flasher tonight, and a bag of red leds to go along with the blue. I also picked up a strip of red leds to go above the rear bumper. I had no intention of this being a 'police' type vehicle, but whatever. Kids love flashy lights.

Threw a few coats of clear coat on the truck tonight. Nice and shiny. Looking more midnight blue than purple now.

I have a front end alignment issue I need to read up on. I haven't started any of the wiring yet either. I'm using 3 6v 14ah batts for the drive train with 19t boxes, and a 12v 3.6ah for accessories.

Finally completed the undercarrige led lighting. Whew, that was a lot of wiring. I basically took a 20 awg 3 conductor cable using one wire for common ground, one wire for power to green leds, and the other wire for power to blue leds. I just kind of stripped/pushed over pieces of insulation to wrap the led lead and solder on. There's an led about every inch or so, alternating green/blue, hooked up to seperate switches.

I definately have to figure out a way to diffuse the blue. The greens have a wider viewing angle and look very cool.

Kind of a crappy pic, but it gives you an idea of the wiring. Pretty crude, but it looks pretty good from the outside. The white tape holding it on is VHB (very high bond) double sided foam tape. I guess it's the same stuff they use to stick that clear window on your cell phone.

There has to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 50-60 leds on this 20' string of cable.

Got my strobe controller in. Still waiting on red leds. I just hooked it up with some alligator clips to see it in action.

Super easy to hook up.

I painted with Fusion. Pressure washed it first, then wiped it down with IPA and a rag, let dry and paint.

I ran 19t on 18v with the bigger tire in jeeps with no problems, but I have striped 3 19t in our silverado in the grass before going back to the 16t boxes.

A grand total of 216 LEDs in 4 different colors

An estimated 110 ft of wiring

Nearly 500 solder joints

Seeing the neighbors look out the windows when I flip the lights on at night.... priceless.

This post is more for vman who was asking about terminal blocks on my lil jeep thread. I thought it'd be more appropriate to post the silverado wiring on the silverado page.

The block on the left is basically +12 distribution to all of the switches, as well as common ground to the other terminal blocks. The block on the right is solely for the flashing lights.

The red wires are flash set 1, the white are flash set 2. The FR blue and FL red are hooked up to the red wires so they alternate. Black is common ground and the far right white is 12v from the switch.

Black switch is headlights & tail lights. Blue switch does the blue underglow, and the green does the green.

Under the hood, this TB is where my headlights and fog lights plug in. I also have the blue & red flashing ones wired in here, jumped up from the flasher block. I use fork terminals, but one could just pop bare wire in there as well.

Here is one of the back corner led sets. It's a bit crude, but hey... it's kind of a tight squeeze to get in there. Especially with the leads of 20 leds on 3 different circuits.

That's pretty much it. Sure, I could have done all of this with wiring and splices and quick-connects, but this looks a lot neater and is easier to keep organized. Not to mention should I need to remove the front grille, I can disconnect the forks from the TB and remove it. I like to number the fork terminal positions prior to removing something so I can be sure to get them back where they belong.

I know... I've been very absent lately. Summer vacations, and big work projects have really cut into my PWing time. There's enough time for the little one to ride, and that's about it.

A friend of mine with connections managed to score two actual county sheriff decals from the motorcycle units. They look pretty cool.

Sorry if I missed this info somewhere. Did you use a separate battery for your lighting? I am thinking of using that flasher unit in my firetruck project and I was trying to figure battery sizes.

Not sure. I've never run it down. After 3 drive train battery changes, it still goes strong. LED's are very efficient.

I was looking at led flashlights for my upcoming elk hunt next month, and there was one that had 3 1/2w leds in it and 3 AA batteries ran it up to 32 hours.
