Well I have posted a few threads with questions so I figured it was time to "officially" start my project... I am planning on repainting it. Maybe blue for the body. Here are some pics of it completely tore down ready for washing in the morning and a few pics of My other toys...... The jeep is getting red paint (wifes choice), Escalade id getting white with pearl. My rhino just got new shocks and brakes today and the waverunner will be getting some fresh wax...... Anyone have anytime to donate....LOL

OK.... well I need some expertise help.... I am prepping the sawblade but I am not sure what to do with the little bit of sun rott. if i scratch it it doesnt like flake off or anything and is only on the hood and the fender flares and a little on the windshield. I tried to capture what i am dealing with in a few pics. Should I keep sanding, primer, paint alot of coats and color sand, or is resin the only fix. The truck body itself doesn't have the rough feel which I assume will give it the not smooth paint job. I am really trying to get this truck to come out really good. Opinions and help please......

Nice work! Did you use Krylon spray paint? Did you do anything special (clear coat, special painting equipment) to get that "consistently" glossy shine? Or was that done with just a spraycan?

| Done with just the can of fusion.... I found that the smoother the plastic the easier is is to get a gloss. I also have noticed that certain colors are alot easier to get to gloss. Light coats to start with and a few heavy coats to finish. The blue and black glossed real easy for me but the yellow will not gloss to save my life which stinks cause I am planning on painting the corvette yellow (its yellow to start with) |

| OK its all back together and running but I have two issues I need to fix. 1. Alignment. I have it apart and I see no signs of the plastic holes being worn to a larger size. Everything looks in good shape. Are some PWs just standard withe toe out? Is my best option to just bend the axle a little? Second is the steering wheel. I received the sawblade completely disassembled. When I put the steering wheel on it seems really loose and looks as if it is sticking out of the dash hole too much. It works fine but feels like its gonna fall off...... |

Well I got the steering slop fixed up and bent the axles some but after I got it all back together realized I could have gone a little bit more but it is much better. The only thing I dont have now is the decal set and someone to drive it for me....LOL

| Well It is an extremely sad day...... Took the saw blade to the park for easter..... went to unload it only to find the hood was missing.... Found it on the way home and it was in pieces....... I almost cried....... Lesson learned...... Now I need to find a silverado hood.... The black piece for the hood may be salvageable so I just need the hood..... :-(.......... |

That sucks. I always fear that will happen with my...err..my son's PW's. I have them strapped down when I haul them up north to my parents but even so, I always worry that something will blow off. Hope you find a new hood. |

| I'm new to the site... I've been trying to find the silverado street scene hood scoop with or without the hood. I'm having a super hard time coming across one, I've tried craigslist, ebay (the5ups), power wheels tech help, and a general google search. Hopefully someone around here can point me in the right direction. Any help will be greatly appreciated. |

HotRodTod, thanks for the info. I'll keep an eye on the5ups on ebay. In the mean time I'm open to for other suggestions or offers, I'm hoping to restore a street scene silverado to look like a late model SS silverado for my son's birthday by the end of may. |
