Since Jack Frost took a day off this weekend... I decided to take the plunge and repaint this Get Set Go Kart.

Gone is girly green... I know the painted wheels will chip as soon as it hits pavement but had to paint it cause the purple just doesn't work... I'll be on the look out for black wheels that will fit this ride.

Transformed into Bumble Bee the Transformer.. as requested by my boss... Also known as Aiden my 4yr old.

Need to touch up the edges on the left hand side... seems I didn't tape it well or the paint bled through the seams. (lesson learned for next project)

looks good, but you know the tire color wont last right?
also if your having trouble with keeping the paint from bleeding, run a very thin beed of caulk down the tape line to keep the paint in.

Yep, aware that the wheel colors won't last long... I just wanted to see a finished look. There are a few folks around my neck of the woods selling these karts.. so, if a good deal comes around with black wheels, I'll be scooping it up to finish the kart. With Jack Frost here, I have the time to wait around. Btw, thanks for the advice on the caulking.. never read it in any of the post but willing to try. I also think it's the brand of spray paint can I was using.. I found that the Rustoleum brand sprays thick vs the Krylon that sprays thinly.

| I'm curious.... that's the same gearbox as the Lil' Quad, maybe the wheels are the same also, and they come in black. Check the parts diagrams at Hobbymasters one a get-set and a Lil Quad and see if they are the same. And they shouldn't be too expensive, you can get an entire Lil' Quad for $60 new. |

I believe you're right... the kart's wheel PN is : 78780-2119 and the Lil Quad's wheel PN is: 77760-2119
I've seen these quads posted often in my area so I'll keep a look out for them. Thanks for the heads up!!! |
