My 4 (almost 5) year old daughter got one this Xmas and she absolutely LOVES it! She already had the Jeep Hurricane and a modified (24V, DCM motors) Lightning McQueen and hands down thsi Peg Perego Polaris RZR is awesome! It's fast and the run time is unbelievable!!! She used it on/off all day today and it's still showing a full charge. The battery is HUGE!

Build time was about an hour and I was very impressed with the quality of this.

Pros: fast, well built, goes through grass without even slowing down. The progressive gas pedal makes for easy (soft) starts and stopping. It acts like a two-speed if the driver eases into the gas. Seat belts, though not a life-saving device, are affective. Shocks in the back REALLY work...you can see it working as she goes from driveway to yard and over bumps. Adjustable seats are nice...room to grow.

Cons: battery access is a bit silly...you have to remove a screw from the passenger seat to lift it up to get to the battery, but I just left the screw out (mainly because it will eventually strip the plastic after repeated removal/re-insertions). Reverse is a bit tricky for kids to get used to. They have to HOLD the level in reverse to go backwards and if they let go of the lever it automatically goes forward, which is hard on the gears and will eat the tires. I had to "train" my daughter to stop before letting go of the level to save the gears/tires.

There's plenty of room for another battery, so I'll rig up lights to make them functional.

Madforce, I also bought the RZR for my almost 4 year old son for Christmas. However, we are only getting 1 hour of riding time! We are riding on cut grass, no hills, slightly bumpy. Customer service told me that in high gear this is normal! Do you think I got a defective battery? What should I do?

According to the paperwork that came in the box, an hour is about expected run time. I may just be getting luck with a really strong battery, and my daughter ran it on/off for most of the day, so it's not like she got a full day with it running the entire time.

None the less, an hour is still a lot of time! You can always buy a second battery and swap them.

I'm curious to know if the charger knows to stop charging when the battery if charged. If not, I'll put the charger on a Xmas timer and run if for 18hrs and then have it shut off. The instructions say to charge immediately after running, but I know from my R/C days that you NEVER charge a hot battery.

Well, from what I read and see, the charger light turns from yellow to green when ready. So I am assuming that it stops charging at that point. We have the Peg Perego John Deere Tractor and it goes all day, and into the next. It is a 12 volt, so I was naturally expecting the 24 volt to go further. It even brags about extended run time on the Peg Perego website. I just know my little man has no patience to wait on all that charging! We may end up modifying, I just hate to void the warranty.

Hi,

My Name is Carlo and i live in Italy.

My son is 3 years old and he received a Ranger for Xmas. We have also a Peg Perego Polaris quad (12v) upgraded with Lipo batteries 4s (16.8Volt) and 4000 mha.

The RZR is really nice car. After a short break in (for motors and gearbox), he went in off-road .

Carlo

The RZR looks awesome - we're very interested in buying one, but I'm concerned about reliability. Any issues with the RZR after a year?
