How do I add traction? There are several ways. Apply bed liner to the tires, duct tape and bmx tires (there are others).

While this WILL SHORTEN THE LIFE OF YOUR GEARS (costing you $$) it will increase traction. Here is a video how to apply BMX tires:

you can also cut the tire and install with screws if the tire is too small for the smallest bmx tire out there.

i saw this mod from "lookatmyboygo" this is an excellent mod he has taken a bmx tire found the correct size for his kids ride-on tire and put an inner tube inside the tire and inflated to 20 psi.
