I was recently given a Power Wheels Jeep Hurricane that sat outside for 3 years. It didn't come with a charger so I went to Toys R Us and bought one, but when I plugged in the battery to it I got the flashing red "bad battery" lights, so I returned the charger so I could figure out my next step. Basically what I'm wondering is what is my least expensive option for getting a new battery and charger that will work on the Hurricane?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Buy a schumacher 600a charger for 30 or less at walmart or amazon. Buy a 12v12ah ups battery locally or online from a place like gruber. Then pop your Then reuse the connector off your current battery on the new battery. This video will show you how. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rkFtqrwhDU

Also I have never had a hurricane so we need someone to chime in on if a 12v12ah fits without mod or if you might need to go with a 12v10ah instead.

here is an example of ways to charge the aftermarket battery - http://www.modifiedpowerwheels.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=21592
