New to the forums guys, but I have been browsing the forums a bit. I just picked this thing up today for 50 bucks and an hours trip, great condition, but it definitely looks warn. Tires are worn down the centers, and there's scratches on the chrome piping, stickers are peeling off slightly, and the body is chipped. Other than that, it works like a charm! Son hasnt saw it yet, nor does he know about it.

I want to repaint it like a deep or fire engine red, or possibly restore the dark blue, or paint it black. Not quite sure yet, but I want to make this thing look new for Christmas. Any suggestions put there?

Want to do list:

- deep scratch removal paint
- restore the chrome like pipes
- restore the wheels, and possibly rubber coat them
- eventually do a 12v mod

I have these available if you wanted. I would have to finish the main body though which wouldn't take too long. I'll make you a good deal!

I'd want to do something blue to accent the seat instead of leaving it black. Possibly add some leather padding on it or something quick and easy I can loading whip up via Joann frabrics or patcatans.

Anybody know any mods for seats?

I could finish and clear them and let em go for $30+ core. I pay for shipping these out and you pay shipping on your core to me.

Before we do that, I want to make sure that these sets are compatible. Does anyone else want to chime in and let us know if this swap will work for him?? I can provide extra pics if needed.

Here's a picture of my gas tank. They seem to fit nicely, but I'm not a professional.

Looks like mine has space for one extra switch, 12v two battery set up. Is yours 6 volt? The other difference I noticed is on the back end; mine has the saddle bags (removed) and and a "light" on the rear fender. I know someone will have a definite answer whether this will work or not.

Just got back from the ER, son fell out of bed and hit something. I'll post more pics in a bit of different angles. Yeah the hole seems slightly bigger on the bottom there, and I'll try and take better lighted photos. Had to move the bike from the trunk to the basement in order to put my son in the car without him seeing it.

There is a light on the back, and mine does has spots for saddle bags, but I don't think the previous owner had gotten them from the previous owner prior

Hope the little guy is OK.

We had a bad scare about a month ago. Son took a fall from the island (when strapped into the feeding chair.
Spent 8+ hours at 2 diff hospitals (including med transport between them). They "THINK" he had a fractured skull.
Scaryest thing I have ever seen was him strapped to a back board with a neck brace.

Just learning...

Holy crap, Terry! I'm glad it was just a scare and nothing more. When my youngest daughter turned 2 she fell off our bed on to tile floor. When my wife went to check on her, she was laying unconscious on the floor and her eyes were rolling back. Talk about scary! My wife called 911. Fortunately by the time the ambulance arrived she had regained consciousness. The CT-Scan was negative, so she didn't hit her head. The doctors concluded that she probably lost her breath from crying and just passed out. Apparently that isn't uncommon.

The 12v single battery with boost button only has one set of switch holes for f/r.

Man, I cant wait to actually put these on the bike! Especially when I spray the exhausts with chrome!

He's going to flip out when he sees this, but most importantly... everyone else will envy him!

The letter stickers will be removed to show the black behind.

I got too excited and forgot about my recoat window I was able to somewhat salvage it.

Chris,
This is the worst spot. The reflection makes it look extra bad but I had to make sure you could see it.

But from a couple feet back you don't notice it.

Oh man I know that feeling. Can you wetsand it and go over the clear again. Or does it pull up the basecoat when it crinkles like that?

It actually pulls up the base coat. I already wet sanded it and re cleared it. It's not as bad now as it was before the re clear. I'm usually really good about my re coat times but like I said, just got too excited.

I dont think it looks that bad, and after all its the rear of the bike. once all the parts are on it, it shouldnt look bad. Once I start the break down i'll document everything.

Plenty of pictures to come!
