Hello. I'm looking into both of the F-150s, single seater 6v vs. dual seater 12V. My question is, 1. If I get the 6v lil Ford F150 and upgrade it to 12v, will that make it basically the same speed as the dual seater 12v F-150 stock?
2. If i go for the 12v dual seater F-150, what is the next step to upgrade for speed? 18v perhaps?
I just want speed for either one I get. I'm not sure if the stock 12v F-150 will be fast enough out of the box. Experienced modifiers please chime in. Thanks in advance.
Regards, Waylon |

The Lil' Ford F-150 uses Super6 6V motors. It will go about the same speed upgraded to 12V as the stock 12V dual seater F-150 would go upgraded to 18V (a little under 7 mph for both on a smooth surface). The main difference you may notice is a little less torque with the Lil' Ford. Also, the Lil' Ford F-150 has only forward and reverse. The stock 12V dual seater F-150 has high speed forward, low speed forward, and reverse. If you go with the stock 12V dual seater F-150, upgrading it to 18V would be fine, but I don't recommend going higher than that. The reliability goes way down when you upgrade to 24V. Here is my Super 6 PW Ford F-150.

Thanks Chris. Great video also, it was helpful to see a visual on how fast it can go.

If I decided to go with the dual seater and get the 12V version, what would be the next step in regards to battery upgrade to make this faster? I keep reading that making a 12v to a 18v doesn't make too much of a difference in speed.
Aside from the F-150 12V, I also ran across a used Nascar Tony Stewart in my neighborhood. it's 12v stock, but I'm not sure where to upgrade from that point. Any suggestions???

Nice! Great looking McQueen, it does look pretty fast at 18v. Very much appreciated for the quick reply.

I went with 18v on mine, and recently upgraded to dual HPI GT550's. This thing is amazing now!!!!! |
