I have a 6v hot wheels Jeep I'd like to make go faster. Is this as simple as adding a second 6v battery and wiring them in white to black between the batteries and running the other wires to the motor? It also has only one rear wheel spinning (passenger side rear) is there an easy upgrade to make it posi traction?
is it a good idea to upgrade to a larger motor to handle the larger voltage? or do I just roll with it and expect less life from the vehicle?
Thanks, Justin |

12 volts and a second gearbox is your answer! Do a search for "lil jeep" or "lil wrangler" in the project pages to see what other members have done.
Here's mine http://www.modifiedpowerwheels.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10144
It can be done much simpler than this....but what's the fun in that? |
Drive it like you stole it!........out of somebody's garbage! |

It's the simplest upgrade around.
My Lil Jeep has gone in stages to 2wd 6v (didn't get stuck anymore) to 12v (kept up with the big Jeep) to 12v Super6 (7 MPH, blows away the neighbor's kids)

Ok, so how do I know what gear box I have in there now? Do they have model numbers or soemthing on them I should look for? And then once I figure out what gear box I have where do I find a new one? just look for a similar model in my area on Craigslist that doesn't run or something? |

It's most likely a 3A - that's what they came with stock.

Good stuff, I'll ahve to look tommorow to be sure I have a 3a. Where's the best place to pick these up? Am i best off to find a cheap used vehicle localy or is there some place I can get parts for fairly cheap? I'm assuming its a bad idea to connect a battery to each and run it like that since if one battery doesnt have the same chage as another you will just do circles? |

I have a complete super6 setup with gearboxes and all for 35 shipped. Should be a strait drop in. This will give you 2 wheel drive and added speed with the super6 motors. Also in this setup they act as a posi track. Then like divinar said hit it with 12v and it will FLY! Here is link if you interested. http://www.modifiedpowerwheels.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=20021
Otherwise I can sell you a gearbox/motor and wheel driver for 10bucks shipped. Need to know if the driver is round or hexagon.
