Hi All!
I wanted to make everyone aware that Tiger Imports currently has a software glitch that is displaying 'Fedex Ground' as an available shipping option to Canada. This option is not supposed to be available due to Fedex's Customs Fees / Regulations with shipments from US to Canada.
There are numerous issues that can come up with International Shipments. As such, our criteria for determining acceptable shipping methods are very strict. Fedex Ground does not meet this criteria for shipments to Canada, and that is why we are working to fix the bug that is showing Ground as an available method to Canada.
I know this is disappointing to many Canadian customers as Fedex Ground is by far the cheapest method. Until we get the bug fixed, we have been upgrading Fedex Ground (avg cost = $15) orders to USPS Priority Mail (avg cost = $30) orders FREE of charge. We are doing this at a severe loss, because it is our software glitch that is displaying the incorrect information.
The ironic part of all of this is that we are receiving complaints, one of which specifically mentioned MPW as the source of recommendation (which is why I am making this post here), about shipping orders via Priority Mail instead of Ground. Some even asking for shipping reimbursements when our cost is double what has been actually paid for shipping.
I think the root of this issue is that people don't understand just how expensive it is to ship from the US to Canada. I encourage anyone in Canada looking for parts to research shipping rates:
