It is a nice old bike form the age of the dinosaurs. It is remarkably complete and you will find that quality of build is higher then 90% of toys out there today. The trikes get a bad rep because of their inherent stability issues, but if you keep them at 18v and the kid is a bit sensible and a bit adventurous, thay actually adds to the fun. Sure, you will occassionally get superb video moments of take-offs that have the bike rearing up and leaving the child sitting on their butt in the grass while the bike points skywards, and your heart will skip as you watch them take a corner on just two wheels, and then practice doing exactly that because that makes it more fun.... But I have grown quite fond of trikes since we started messing with them.

I would not recommend them (boosted) for anyone younger then 3 and a half, probably four.

The one you have there is a snap to repair. do not be precious about the plugs and such. cut, crimp and solder to your hearts content, so that you end up with fittings that work with a modern set of SLA batteries (don't forget the fuse!)

Alex.

Colbert: So the AK-47 is like the Windows platform of guns, it's everywhere.

Pike: No, no. It's MUCH more reliable than that.

I'm thinking about just changing out the battery connector and have it run on a 12v battery or have it run off of 2 6v batteries like it once had.... it would be cool to mod it but then again leaving it original would be easiest.... any suggestions?

I tried using a trailer connector and splicing the wire to Alligator clips and clipping those to a 12v battery just to check to see if it would move fwd and reverse.... but no luck... is there another way to "test"

Someone help pleasse.... My son desperately wants to ride this one for some reason and not his grave digger...

So I took apart the whole thing and checked the switches and put direct power from a 12v battery to the motors and they WORK!... but when i connect everything back up to how it was, the switches don't work... so..i think the switches are bad....

On the Plus side the throttle grip on the right side works but doesn't let the motors stop completely... so i can't hook it up directly like that...

what type of switch would be best for this? And What gauge wired are use for 12v?

My wife told me I have to get rid of this one since how I told her I would get rid of it when we picked up the Police Harley and especially now that I just picked up a Jeep today, I'm thinking of just keeping the Throttle Grip, Motors and Gears out of this and trashing the rest.... UNLESS... someone makes me an offer on it

Those are pretty rare, especially in that good of condition. I would clean it up and list it, before trashing it.

Those switches usually just need cleaning. My guess is that the handle-bar grip is for sound, like the older quads. You might look for a place to put batteries in the sound box?
