Yeah, So I had been watching some backordered prewired LEDs I wanted to purchase for a time sensitive project I have been working on.
Back in February they showed as available in "2 weeks." I waited until the backorder time said "4 days" to place my order.
Got my order in and the next day the time jumped to "2 weeks" again.
A little irritated I called them to see whats up. They inform me that all their LEDs come from china suppliers and they were having problems with that supplier. I hung up assured the problem was fixed and product was on its way.
Now here it is a week later and now the wait is "3 weeks"
That misses my deadline.
I guess I learned two things from this. Oznium's products are not made here, as someone had said in a posting in another section.
And you cannot trust their backorder times at all because they don't even know.
I think he felt bad as they did ship out the switches I ordered without charging me extra shipping but little good that will do without the leds I need.
Just a FYI

I ordered these-
http://www.oznium.com/prewired-surface-mount-led

I needed the surface mount for a low clearance lense I will be behind and didn't want to drill the plastic and have wires come straight out the back so the flat ribbon was gonna be great.
If you know any other place I can find these that would be great.
I have looked and havent seen them anywhere.

I called them and talked to someone else who told me it is a problem with customs. I am not entirely sure if they know what the problem is.

I'm not sure why another member said they were made in the US, but to clarify, the LEDs are indeed made in China. I've been to visit the factory twice now, and work closely with the owner who speaks perfect english with a British accent. Not what you expect from a Chinese man!

I agree, you should not trust the backorder times. For us, there's just too many factors involved, and the estimate is quite hard to predict accurately.

Unfortunately you won't be able to find this same LED elsewhere. It is my own design/creation.

As an alternative product, perhaps a small 3 LED section from the Ribbon Strip work for your project. (Mark suggested this on the phone this morning, but I'm not sure if you understood it. Perhaps you can check out the pictures and see if it would work.)

Yellow/Orange/Amber

I've found your order, and I've refunded the full amount back to your card. $24.15 (cost of switches+shipping). The backordered orange LEDs have been dropped to $0.00, so when they do come in, they will ship at no charge, with our compliments.

Oznium, I have one question for you after that post of yours....
Do you ship to Australia?

:)

Alex.

Colbert: So the AK-47 is like the Windows platform of guns, it's everywhere.

Pike: No, no. It's MUCH more reliable than that.

Yep :)

USPS First Class Mail International, usually around $6 to $10, but can be slow or unreliable.

USPS Priority Mail International, a bit more, but quicker and more reliable.

Just add to cart, and it'll give you an estimate.

Phil,
I had no idea you guys were on here. This forum is where I found out about your website so I figured I would let the other modders know about the backorders in case they were also under time constraints. Iím not mad or anything. I was just unclear about the backorder timeframes. When I called in February the rep made it sound iron clad, the LEDs would definitely be in stock by then. I was just disappointed to keep seeing it get pushed back week after week.

This project has just taken on a life of its own.
I got a new HPX SE Gator from my local John Deere dealer for my son and decided to mod it with lights, remote kill switch, battery meter, keyed switch, parallel batteries, horn, radio, seatbelts, power dump bed, relays etc. and when I told the dealer what I was doing he gave me a little bit of a price break if I would let him take it to a trade show he was going to have a booth at. If it was only for the b-day I could have added the lights later but now I am kind of obligated to light it up to be put on display : /

I do appreciate you going way above and beyond in making it right with me and I will be doing business with you in the future. What can I say, you guys have great products.
Thanks again.

Oh, and for the people who want picts of the gator project you will have to wait until sometime in April. I have been taking picts of my progress and plan on making a really big posting in the Pimp your ride section once I get it all compiled. I will post links to all the parts I ordered and pretty good picts of how it is all put together.

Here is the link to the thread where they were talking about the prewired lights. The last comment on there by lpe350 made it sound like your products were made locally and not from China, not that it really makes a difference.

Have a update.
I recieved the leds late April and they sat on my shelf until today. They werent high priority anymore since my deadline passed, now more of a when I can get to it item. Checked them and they all function fine. I am really impressed with the color and volume of light they produce for being so tiny and thin. They came with well over a foot of wire leads as well which make installing them easier.
So I decided I would finsih the gator and installed the last switch I had gotten from them. I got lazy and didn't bother testing it before puting it in and guess what, the switch works but the led in the switch doesn't
I know I did it right as I have already done three and they work just fine, being an electrician helps too.
Now I have to dig this switch out of the dash so I can send it in. I will call them in the next few days to see about an exchange.

Badcomp do you have any photos of this install? I was looking for leds to add to my daughters new HPX and was thinking about oznium. If you have already done the work it will be even easier for me to copy.

I haven't gotten around to putting in the oznium leds yet. The ones I ordered from them are the prewired orange surface mountable and are intended for the orange turn signal lights up front and the ones in the rear on the mud flaps. They are already set up for 12volt and dont need resistors.
http://www.oznium.com/prewired-surface-mount-led
I can show you what I have on there now and tell you where I got them
The main headlights are from dinodirect.com. There are two parts to each headlight, an outer ring(halo) and a smaller round circuitboard type in the middle. They put out a pretty descent amount of light and dont require resistors since they are made for 12volt autos.
Here is the halo, it fit perfectly, as though it was made for it. 70mm if I remember correctly and cheap considering you get two as a set when you order them. I kept the little plug on the halo and cut one of the adaptors to make my splice, that way if I ever needed to remove the grill I wouldnt need to cut any wire, I would have the little disconnect already on there. Oh and the wires are so small I used 3M button connectors, like for phone splices to make the connections simple and quick.
http://www.dinodirect.com/21-LED-Bulb-Ring-Car-Angel-Eyes-Light-70mm-White.html
This is the center light. There is a little gap between this and the halo. They are twice as expensive as the halos and I after I ordered I realized that I could have just bought a smaller set of halos to put in the middle and it would have worked out about the same. I think they offer halos down to 30mm or so. I have them switched separately from the halos because the halos look cool lit by themselves.
http://www.dinodirect.com/12-LED-Car-Interior-Dome-Door-Box-Light-Bulb-40227.html
For the light on the canopy I found some generic led off roading lights I liked and ordered them from ebay. The supplier was in Hong Kong but shipping was free only 15 bucks or so total. They are cheap but get the job done and look nice.
The rear lights in the motor compartment are from O'Rileys Autoparts. They are generic tractor trailer led side marker lights. I had to cut 2 or 3 inch round holes in the back to mount them.
They are spread like they are to allow for a second 12 volt battery in the back to allow for longer run time.
The switches I used were from oznium. They have the green led in the switch. If you use them test them as one of the four I got the led doesnt work in the switch, but the switch still does, go figure.
http://www.oznium.com/rocker-switch
I have pictures some where which shows how I wired everything up and how I mounted everything but I have been too busy to get my project page up and running. I hope this helps with your build. If you have any other questions or need a specific picture of part of the build I am sure I can muster up something for you. I went all out on this one with remote kill, keyed switch, fm radio, bed lift, couple of over kill relays, secondary battery, external charging port, seatbelts, etc. etc. When I finally tear into it to get those oznium leds in I will be adding a 18volt turbo to the system as well.
Here is what the little button connectors look like. I already had mine but I know radioshack sells them. The yellow ones are a 2 way splice and the red ones are a 3 way splice. Just make sure the wires go all way to the back of the connector before you squeeze. If you dont have the right tool for them channel locks work fine, just dont squeeze too hard or you will cut the wire off with the slice fin.

Very nice you even have the hpx SE. I searched all over dino and dealextreme and don't see the halo in anything smaller than a 60mm. Do you think the one 70mm by itself is adequate? My concern is I don't want the orange lights overpowering the headlamps.

Maybe I saw those halos some where else. I cant remember now. Ill keep my eye open for them.
I have 4 of those switches so I can use the headlights only if I want to.
The rings are switched alone.
The headlight centers are switched with the rear trailer lights.
The canopy off roading lights are switched alone.
The oznium turn signals front and rear with be switched together.
That way he can have it any way he wants.
I tested the oznium lights and I dont think they will over power it. The headlights are pretty bright.
