flames are getting removed because they are goofy looking. its a metal frame but kinda small in the interior area..the metal bar in the middle of the underside goes to the brakes which is the part right in front of the rear tire..ad said that it was supposed to come with a battery and charger but it had a dead battery and no charger.
was able to talk him down because of that..the pas. side headlight broke off and the drivers side tail did as well and it has no rear view mirrors(anyone have parts of one of these?)

but there it is! will keep everyone posted as to updates to the beast

busted a christmas tree plug thing off(was getting tired of dealing with them and clipped the bastard) now i need to find another one..any suggestions? the roll bar loop is taped off as is the windshield and its just waiting for some rattle can action

should i just dry wipe off the dust and hit it with paint?

Wipe it down with alcohol or something like that to get the dust and any oil residue off. Test it under the body first to make sure it doesn't melt the plastic. Alcohol should be safe, but it never hurts to check first.

hit it with an organic cleaning stuff that we have looks alot less chalky now and should be good for paint...figure two coats tonight then another in a week if I have that much paint left...then its onto laying the carbon fiber and clearing it

still need to figure out how to get a replacement gearbox/motor on this thing and a second set up. Have plenty of space for larger battery and the pedal is set up for a second set up already..it would be wrong not to do it

Sweet ride! Have you considered bicycle mirrors? I've seen several that look a lot like small sports car mirrors, and they are cheap!

This pic is from Amazon...

But your local bike store might have something similar. Some have turn signals also!

(pics link to threads)

Fast, Reliable, and Cheap... Pick any two.

A quick tip for cold weather painting: Hold the spray can under really warm water for a lil while, shaking every so often, before painting; this is actually a good idea anyway cuz the paint lays alot smoother (cold or warm weather). You can also use a heat gun on low at a distance to help with the drying in the cold weather.

I live in cold, wet Seattle so I've had to do this a few times and got great results.

The steering wheel looks like you wrapped it with something... Is it wrapped or just painted? Looks cool either way!

same paint i used on the seat...just taped off the outer rim of it before spraying it down...put maybe 3 coats on it while the seat got about 5. Did the lower part of the interior with the same color and was going to store to get primer when the boss(wife) made an executive decision on the color...

white has been returned and will have updates with new color hopefully soon...Ive been taking pictures with the real camera too because im tired of looking at my own phone pictures so will have some spiffy nice pictures in the near future as well

also picking up carbon wrap again soon as some christmas money rolls in...will really look wicked now..

need to find emblems for steering wheel and hood and thinking about popping some holes in the body and making some functional taillights for it as well..have to at least have it painted for christmas

he also keeps sitting on the frame and trying to get it to move like that...almost makes me want to get a seat mounted on the frame and keep the body 'for special occasions' or just find another one(HA!) and have 1 for daily driver and 1 trailer queen

got good before and after shots of it with the slr but don't know where the cable is to download...the roll bar was taped to keep it a satin black and the interior taped to cover the same color as seat..chinese dragon is still visible on the hood but the carbon fiber im picking up tonight will take care of that

What are you going to use carbon fiber for? And are you going to use the real stuff, or the sticky back decal paper?

the hood had a chinese dragon rattle canned onto it when i bought it along with the pictured flames on the sides..the carbon fiber is going on the hood(to cover the outline of the dragon) the roll bar and the dash..have access to the real deal but the decal sticker stuff is cheaper/easier to work with for this situation..not covering the dash until i get my hole saw so that i can mount the gauges in there..

going to do an entire barbie beetle in the wrap cf stuff as well...and put it on an 'air ride' type suspension..soon as this one is done i'll start that up

wasn't able to finish this in time to have it under the tree so he unwrapped the steering wheel held it for a second then threw it hoping to have everything done today and still have to get a battery for the goofy thing..wet sand the interior, clear coat the whole body then its off to evolution motorsports(http://evoms.com) for decals and pictures on the dyno

decal sticker stuff turned out to be pretty worthless..stripping it off(have pictures just not uploaded at this point)

going to wetsand whole car and redo the paint in interior/exterior...the body 'sucked up' the paint that was laid down and it has turned to a more matte finish..

still want to add dual motors/gearboxes to this thing but haven't figured which to go with

its getting stripped off today and i begin the sanding process on the car..had to break it down into strips as i couldn't get it to lay without bubbling in 1 piece and it just wasn't working. might get a sheet of the real stuff and heat it to form a new hood but for the moment its been moved to the bottom of the list

I have an idea for the carbon fiber. I use this trick with an airbrush but i think you could get it done with spray paint.

im going to worry about that down the line a little bit. have to wetsand and respray the whole car as it is and it has slipped on the importance scale

Nice. Just found your thread and I saw your request for a picture of the porsche in my other thread.
I'll post pictures of that with another intro.

Not going to crash your thread so I want to follow along on your project esp. on the dual motor

Edit:

Any new pictures?

Here's my porsche project that I just started:
