I am starting out with a very used 2001 G3740 Street Scene Silverado. What I am turning it into is a Halo 3 M12 Light Reconnaissance Vehicle a.k.a. Warthog. I'm calling it the Chupa Thingy based of a Halo machinima Red vs Blue. To complete project I am going to cut body to closely resemble the warthog. Second construct parts from hubcaps to towing hooks(tusks). Third bondo modifaction. forth cleaning. Lastly painting. Maybe later contruction on weapons systems, but not untill i finsh every thing else. Any input would be great.

| Hey Flux if you need anything let me know. I can deliver. Also if you see any of my rides that you are interested in let me know. Pretty much the whole fleet is going well besides the Gaucho's but they need a lot of work. |

A great way to attach Bondo is Drill a WHole lot of holes. Basically, make it look like a cheese grater or screen. When you apply your first coat press firmly to force the bondo to go through the holes. The back side will have little bubbles that are bigger then the holes. Basically,it makes a Rivet of sorts.Let this harden and apply thin coats afterwards. The final coat can be done with a tiny bit of acetone to make the bondo more liquid thus filling tiny pin holes. But the bondo will dry extremely fast.
You can allso spray black paint on the second to final coat then sand. This will show you the pin Holes perfectly. You can use BONDO pin hole filler for this.
The only bad thing about bondo on plastic is that the plastic will flex alot. This will crack the bondo! |

Can you take a picture of the holes? You can use a Plastic welder! While they run a pretty penny,This is one tool worth the money if you plan on modding powerwheels as a hobbie. The plastic welder is basically a soldering iron. This thing come with plastic to melt and mold and will make solid smooth conections. Then no matter how much flex you get,it will not crack.
They look like this...

or more advanced model...

I like the cheaper one myself. The handle is not in the way when you get into tiny spots!!! |

| so I got the holes drilled and the wheels back on for now. The windshield, towing hooks and rear bumper are painted, I did paint the hood but after I finished it didnt look the right shade, so Im going to get a differnt shade of green and paint it again. I still need to paint the body but not untill I get more money to get more paint. Still waiting for the LEDs from HK and need to find a harrnes for the rear bumper and caps for the tow wench and put them together, paint and then some detail painting then done so im about 75% done. But i do have a question I am using krylon fussion paint and I need to paint half inch lines on it what type of paint should i use with a paint brush??????? |

You could prepaint the lines with fusion. Let the paint dry for a day. Then use electrical tape to cover the color you want to stay. Then repaint the original color over the tape and the body. While the paint in still wet, pull off the electrical tape to keep the fusion from sticking to it as you remove the tape. This will give you near perfect lines.
Or you could just use vinyl Pinstripe from an RV store. They have larger Pinstriping rolls. 1/2" should be easy to find there!!!

It's an axle rod.I will have the PVC drilled in the center then the outside of the PVC pipe will hold the axle in place. One side of the brush gaurd will be glued while the other side will have 2 screws in it.One at the top of the pipe and one at the bottom. That will make it easy for any repairs needed in the future. I am using NINJA quad parts so far so repairs(LMAO) will be needed. I may use an escalade gearbox instead and not have to worry about repairs.
The 2 hubs are bolted together internally with 2 bolts. The cut away picture shows what I am trying to type...LMAO |

I know you are nearly finished this impressive thing, But I ran across this and thought you might be interested. A working Warthog, as built by Weta studios for Peter Jackson.

Lots of detail photos too.
